Why Choose MD For Patients

We are not biased toward any single institution or geographic region. Instead, if you need on-site care, we’ll advise you about where to seek it based on criteria that best fit your needs - given your condition, healthcare requirements, and preferences.

Do you really think Harvard is the best at everything?

Have you asked Mayo, the Cleveland Clinic, Stanford, Yale, the University of California, Barrow, Columbia, the University of Chicago, Mallinckrodt, or dozens of others? Because they don’t think so. But does Mayo think it’s the best at everything?  Well, maybe - but everyone else will take issue with that as well. And that’s just listing US-based institutions as an example.

The point is, no single institution - no matter its reputation - has the best of everything. It’s not possible.

One institution is likely better than others at treating particular subset of conditions, but not as good in other specialties or treatment areas of expertise. That’s just the truth of it.

So what should a patient do? Blindly go to Harvard because they are an elite institution? Of course not. Each patient should choose the best institution for them and their particular set of circumstances. However, it’s not always easy to determine where that is and how to get there, particularly if a situation has some urgency.

Our consultants have experience working in many of the top institutions in the world and have connections to, and networks within them. But we aren’t beholden to any one institution to the extent that we must recommend it simply because they employ us.

Instead, as an independent practice, our top priority is to offer unbiased advice to our patients about where to seek care based on their needs - regardless of institutional affiliation or geographic location.

Of course, many of our experts are happy to see our patients on-site in their own institutions if the patient so chooses, and that might be their best option in a particular situation.

But whether the best place for you to seek care is halfway across town, halfway across your country, or halfway around the globe, we will help you to decide that - and we can even then arrange travel and accommodations for you, to take one more thing off of your to-do list at a time when you have plenty to be concerned about already.

We think this is the best and most honest, helpful way to advise our patients - and we take this approach because when we’re the patient, it’s how we want to be treated.
